And the winner is …..

Sadly not us!

However mrs Aransiola and I were delighted that our school got as far as it did and we are very proud that we made it into the final!

We met some fantastic people including Margherita Taylor who is a DJ with the radio station Classic FM. She has promised to have a look at our blog and maybe even leave us a comment!

I also got a chance to talk to Suzi Digby OBE who is an amazing musical champion and I got an invitation to spend a day with her in Cambridge looking at her newest musical venture.

I also spoke to someone at The Barbican centre and we are going to look at the possibility of us setting up some links.

We are still in the early stages of developing our music department. We still have to achieve our after school music centre and to really extend our music into the nursery so being shortlisted is a great encuoragement. I confidently predict that if you all carry on putting so much effort into your music work that in 5 years time we will be ready to win all sorts of awards!

Huge congratulations to King’s School Grantham who did win best music school department.

I also met lots and lots of other interesting musical people but I havent gort time to mention them all now as I am heading back to the expo. Will blog again later.

Have a good day!

  5. I am so proud of all that we have achieved in music over the past few years. Hundreds of children now have a new love of music in it’s wider sense. I am looking forward to seeing the MMF music hub grow and flourish and am excited by the development of music in our Early Years department.
To be shortlisted in national awards such as these is brilliant and I am really proud of all of the children and music staff here at St. Teresa’s.

    Well done!!

  6. Dear Mrs Schneider and Mrs Aransiola,
It was great to meet you both last night at the Music Teacher Awards at the Barbican. Everyone at St Teresa’s should be very proud of the work you are all doing. Please pass on my best wishes to all the staff and students at St Teresa’s. Good Luck to every student at St Teresa’s for your music practice, playing and concerts. Thank you also all the students who have been listening to Classic FM.
    Warm Regards,
    Margherita Taylor
