Dear Mr Ellison and children from Leamore School

Our IT specialist Ms Schofield has just found your blog and showed it to me. We are VERY impressed! We are especially interested in your thoughts on using iPads in music lessons. It is my ambition to set up an iPad band here at St Teresea’s but I have to persuade a lot of people so they will agree to buy us some ipads.

I wonder if you could help us out? It would be fantastic if your children could leave us some comments about their opinions on using ipads. Maybe they could share their progress with us? How exactly did the ipads help? Did it make you more interested in learning an instrument?

I understand that you may be very busy so don’t worry if you don’t have time. Meanwhile I am going to share some video’s of your music lessons with MY classes here!

  1. How often do you use the Ipads in music?
How do the Ipads help you in your music lessons?
    What apps do you use?

  2. I used to vote for djembes but everybody is talking about i pads and how useful they are. I think that I have made a mistake about the comments that I had posted before. whoops!!!

    • It is entirely up to you Rhodie. It isn’t a bad thing to change your mind but please don’t ever worry about changing your mind just because other people don’t agree with you! I know that you are a very sensible person who thinks carefully about things so you just listen to your own heart and vote for what you think is right for our school!

  3. Thank you so much for your enthusiasm about Leamore – especially our iPad Band! I received your email and it was lovely of you to tweet about us and write a letter to Mr Ellison and Year Five.

We need to talk! We have an exciting project in the pipeline and it would be brilliant if you could take part. We are happy to FaceTime you.

  4. Mrs Scheider and Christabel, I am glad you liked the link to this blog – I want Mr Baugh to teach me too! I found his Postman Pat song especially funny. It lifts my heart to hear children giggling as they learn. Wouldn’t it be so great if we had enough ipads to form a band at St Teresa’s?
Mr Ellisom – thank you so much for responding, it’s lovely to see what other schools are doing and your children are amazing.

  5. WOW. I never knew Ipads could be so useful!! . I would love to try this (if we do have the money) in our music lessons. I think this will help us to learn lots and lots of notes and the music lessons will be like piano lessons. WOW WOW WOW WOW WOW WOW WOW WOW WOW WOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOW

  6. I will try as hard as possible to get the children to drop you a comment after their next music lesson. I can’t take the credit for this, though. Mr Baugh from our local arts centre comes in to teach! I merely join in and enjoy myself. I don’t think I can say how much the children get from these lessons, the improvement they make every lesson is extraordinary.

    • Thank you Mr Ellisom for leaving us a comment. We hope that your class get time to leave us a comment next time they have their ipads out for a music lesson!

    • Thank you Mr Ellisom! For offering your time to write a comment.
